FAQS

What to wear?

Families:  You don't necessarily have to wear matching clothes (everyone in tan pants and black shirts) but wear complimentary colors.  Pick a few colors that look good together and go with that.  Add layers, accessories, etc to spice it up.

My tip:  Do not have just one person in white, that person will stick out more than everyone else.  If you are going to use white have a couple people wear it.

Children:  Bright colors, layers and accessories are always fun.  I have lots of tutu's, hats, flowers and pettiskirts for little girls.

Newborns:  Personally I think in the nude is the best for this age.  The outfits tend to look too big.  Bring a cute hat, bow, or blanket to add to the photo.

Engagements:  I recommend having a couple outfit changes.  If you are going to wear a skirt and shirt and tie for some make sure to bring something casual as well to switch it up.  Like families, complimentary colors look better than matching.

When should I bring my newborn in?
-The best time to photograph a newborn is 1-2 weeks after they are born.  Basically bring them in as soon as you dare.
-The younger they are the better they will sleep.

What should I bring to a newborn session?
-Bring any hats, hair bows or special blankets that will help enhance the picture. (I have lots of hats as well).
-Make sure the baby is fed right before and be prepared to feed the baby during the session.
-Bring lots of extra blankets.  Your baby will most likely potty during the session.  We will need something to catch it
-Bring lotion if their skin is flakey.

Wedding FAQS-

Do I have to hire a professional photographer? A friend or family member has offered to shoot our engagement pictures for free.

Of course you need to hire a professional!  These are the pictures you will be sending out to all of your family and friends. Establishing a relationship with your wedding photographer long before your wedding will make a difference in the outcome of your wedding images. Your engagement session is a good time for the photographer to see your individual personalities and how you interact with each other. This will help the photographer to capture images on the wedding day that are unique to you.

Do I get the digital negatives?
Yes, every package includes an edited full copyright release disk of your images.

When will I get the photos back?
Engagements and Bridals typically are back to you in 1-2 weeks. Wedding Day photos take longer and are usually 2-3 weeks after the wedding day.

Tips to make the most from your Bridal session

-Have your hair done professionally.  I recommend having it all the way down or half down. That way your hair will help frame your face.
-If you are wearing a veil I recommend taking it off for half the session to add variety to the photos.  If you want bring hair clips, flowers, etc to change it up.
- Get your makeup done professionally.  Fake eyelashes are a gem!  They really help liven your eyes.  Wear a little bit more makeup then you typically would everyday.  Make sure to bring lipgloss along to touch up during the shoot.
- Wear fun shoes, your feet will most likely be photographed.  Have shoes that show your personality.  If they are uncomfortable bring along some flip flops to change into while you walk around in between shots.  If you are wearing open toe shoes, wear nail polish on your toes.
- Get your nails done if you can.
-Bring a bouquet. It doesn't have to be as fancy as the one on your wedding day but it really helps add to the pictures.
-Bring along the Groom for some great controlled lighting pictures.  You will have some great pictures of the both of you to display at the wedding.
- Bring water and snacks especially during the summer.  Winter bring a coat and gloves to put on in between shots.
-If you want any props to add to the look of your photos make sure to bring them along.  (umbrellas, chair, hat, balloons, etc)
